Hestler Swagg

Tonight I had to go in for a fitting of all the clothes ill be wearing for the play. I will be fitted for a Factory worker, Hestler big opening, in the club, at the picnic, and ill be wearing a wrestling singlet for a dance I have with Gladys (Addison G). Im suppose to be a handsome, and buff wrestler and im told that I have to wrestle her on a bed, which should be interesting... Also the lady who is fitting all my clothes told me that she wants to give a pinky ring and that sounds typical Hestler Swagger. I love it!
I never knew that IHS had so much support for kids in the school. They had about 30 kids who are in the play that dont even step on stage, they are either; Lighting, Stage Manager, Costume & Make-up...etc

Rehearsal

I have rehearsal today 5 to 6 and I'm not going to use my book at all. On Sunday I went to Addison's house to go over lines, I hope it pays off. Wish me luck!

Barn Song

I'm in class right now watching a Barn Song i'ts a wise student's former wise project. Its a documentary of him and his father building a barn. They have to cut down trees, use a very old tractor and you need to jump start it, huge log band saw, he also had a lot of help from friends, ect.... "Everything takes longer than aspected" I can reflect and connect to this because its harder than it looks to follow your set in stone plan because you run into new ideas, new people, and different outcomes. In the end he says he feels completed, he has gained a inner light, learned how reflecting and many other skills

Pajama Game Movie

I went to Addisons house today to go over a few lines. She told me that the Pajama Game's is on Netflixs I just got finished watching it, and I'm not going to lie I wanted it to be over. It was cool knowing some of the lines and songs but Hestler did have half his lines. I'm very dissapointed with this, But I know we are all going to kill it when we are on stage.

Myron Hestler is better than you!

Hanger Theater/ Oliver Swagg

Dat New New...

Over break I did a few things I have never done. First thing was at my rehearsal I acted without my book (Act 1 Scene 2) and I killed it. I even brought a cigar (keep it on the hush) for a prop, because Mr. Hestler is a rich, vein, and cocky boss so he needs a cigar to bring out his character and obession with wacky tabacy. The last thing that I did over break that I have never done was go to a play. I want to the play Oliver at the Hanger Theater with Addison. Also started reading 7 1/2 cents.

Law of Attraction

I have been thinking about rapping\poetry\performing arts and a lot of things in my life are telling me to go for it that's "law of attraction" even the littlest things like a tv show having a rap battle and a poetry slam... both beatiful in there own ways and there similar ways. I live by the Law of Attraction and live in the theather world now.

Durning Break

Looking over some of my lines for the play and I wrote a song to Drake's Slow it down instrumenal, I'm think I might use it for the poetry slam or something.

Red Flag

I have spent a good amout of time with my WISE project. I had a meeting with Ms. Tino on Tuesdaywe went over some lines and how to become "Myron Hestler". I'm a vein, cheap piece of s*^t, I met with Ms. Morne as well and finished my Proposel, and looked over my blog. Additionaly I looked up who was the actor who played Myron Hestler in the "Pajama Game" in 1950s. I had a hard week comming off of my last highschool sport of my life but I feel that I hve bounced back extremly well, thanks to theater.

Past and Present

Now that I have been in the Drama Club for a little over a month, I'm really enjoying it and I have noticed that there are a lot of people that I knew when I was younger that are in this production, and it really nice to re-connected with some of them and talk about  how much we have grown in that time period we have been distance, how we are now, or the akward parts like why we don't talk anymore and the different groups we broke off in. I hate how there is that imaginary wall that blocks different groups cause when it comes down to it we all are people and we all have feelings. Doing theater cause me see this gap. There is also alot of people who dislike me for doing this play but i'll let haters hate and show them I just a person who isn't what they think I am. Also I have been thinking about what it would have been like if I had done drama instead of sports( even though I can never forget what sports did for me and I'm so pround that sports were apart of my life) it's just a funny thought, Who knows maybe that was my calling. Like who I would be hanging out with, would I have the same personality, would I be smarter, and would I look different etc... WISE is really opening my mind up and I'm wondering how my life will change from it because it already has in a short period of time. One more thought my eyes really have opened up. For example when I walk through the halls I notice more face that would have just been a blur or not even there.

Just Thoughts...

At this two week point I am wanting to know more about performing arts and other kinds of performing arts like graffiti, I have always thought graffiti was really away for street art to be expressed and roots of creativity to show for gentations.

And poetry in the sense of Hip-Hop and expessing yourself I have always liked rapping...

Research

Ralph Dunn(1900–1968)

Born:

in Titusville, Pennsylvania, USA
Dunn was born in Titusville, Pennsylvania. Dunn's father was a veterinarian for the U.S. Army during WWI, and his mother was an actress. Dunn was enrolled briefly at the University of Pennsylvania, but left after one day to join a Vaudeville troupe.
Ralph Dunn used his burly body and rich, theatrical voice to good effect in hundreds of minor feature-film roles and supporting appearances in two-reel comedies. He came to Hollywood during the early talkie era, beginning his film career with 1932's The Crowd Roars.
A large man with a withering glare, Dunn was an ideal "opposite" for short, bumbling comedians. A frequent visitor to the Columbia short subjects unit, Dunn showed up in the Three Stooges comedies Mummy's Dummies, as well as Who Done It? and its remake, For Crimin' Out Loud

This was the man who played Myron Hestler in the "Pajama Game" I want to see the shoes I will have to fill, and there looking really big.

Its crazy this is comming so fast. Also today I met with Ms.More she gave me the novel that the play was based on.

Ice Princess

I just finished reading one of my classmates journals on her blog. It was really good she is going to be doing figure skating and try and learn 6 jumps. she is a hockey player and has been playing her 12 years so she will be a natural. One of the thing I can connected with her is when she said "when I was younger, even though I made fun of figure skating, I always thought it was such a beautiful sport." This is kinda how i feel about my project of Performing Arts. If someone told me that I was going to be in a play I would have said you are CRAZY!!!

The Pajama Game - Steam Heat

First Post!!!

Dear Readers,

I am an Ithaca high school stuendent who is taken an English course called WISE. Wise is a cool and fun class, in the second half of the years you get to pick a project that you would like to-do or learn more about. For my project I will be dong Performing Arts and all the tasks that go into being in a play. I have never seen or been to a play in my life. The reason I picked this for my project is because I believe that life is about experiences, learning new skills, improving old skills, and finding new people to form connections and to broaden my network to reach new horizons. I have a role in my schools spring musical this year the "Pajama Game" were I play one of the leads Mayron Hestler. Mayron is the boss of the Sleep Tight factory in the late 40s, were all of his workers are demanding for a 7 and a half raise… will I give it to them? That’s all I’ll tell you about him you'll have to come see the play to find out more about this comedy in March. This is not the only thing I’ll be doing for my project. I will also learn how to dance and sing, carpentry, and study about theater. Also I’m going to try and catch a few plays locally here and there.
